Steeped with history in the legendary sporting traditions, The Pines Lodge & Camps has served sportsman, families, & vacationers since 1884. The lodge known as 'The Norway House' with lodge rooms and five comfortable rustic cabins in the Sysladobsis watershed in the West Grand Lake Region. The land parcel offers almost 8 acres with over 1600' of lake frontage. Guests are summoned to the lodge dining room by the dinner bell for homemade delights and sharing adventures with fellow guests with many returning yearly and have become dear friends with the owners. The Downeast watershed is renowned for miles of salmon and bass fishing, as well as endless paddling opportunities originating from the front dock. In the Sysladobsis Lake and The Grand Lake Stream region salmon and bass abound. Brook Trout are also available to test even the most experienced fly fisherman in the nearby ponds and streams. Currently open from May thru the end of September. Boats, canoes, kayaks, and motors are available at the lodge. Years of history and sporting traditions have welcomed guests such as Andrew Carnegie and Calvin Coolidge to savor the magic and serenity of 'The Pines' on Sysladobsis Lake. The Downeast Lakes Land Trust has put thousands of acres in conservation to remain forever wild.
